Tony Dobra – Director

Tony joined the Bullion Market with Sharps Pixley, the bullion subsidiary of Kleinwort Benson in 1980, moving a year later to Mocatta, then the Commodities subsidiary of Standard Chartered. He represented Mocatta at the twice daily London Gold Fix for seven years. Tony joined Marc Rich Investments in 1997 as Chief Precious Metals Trader. In 2000 Tony returned to Mocatta now part of the Bank of Nova Scotia, to expand their physical business globally; based in Hong Kong to explore the expanding opportunities in China. He joined Commerzbank in Luxembourg in 2004, to add silver, platinum, palladium and rhodium to an existing and established gold business. Tony returned once more to London in 2006 to re-establish commodities trading at Standard Chartered as Director of Global Commodity Derivatives. Tony then joined Baird & Co as General Manager in April 2009, being invited to join the Board in July 2010.

Paul Beesley – Senior Trader

Paul started working in the precious metals market in 1980 when he joined Mocatta and Goldsmid. He worked there for 18 years and initially ran their bullion coin outlet and represented the company at the daily gold fixings held at N M Rothschilds. As his career progressed he joined the trading room team where he moved on to managing the group worldwide metals and money liquidity and its inherent yield curve risks. He also spent time travelling across the world visiting central banks and mining houses to discuss and assist with their yield management and hedging requirements. Before returning to the precious metals market with Baird and Co., he spent time working at the digital news, research and data provider Fastmarkets.
