Paul Beesley – Trade Director

Paul started working in the precious metals market in 1980 when he joined Mocatta and Goldsmid. He worked there for 18 years and initially ran their bullion coin outlet and represented the company at the daily gold fixings held at N M Rothschilds. As his career progressed he joined the trading room team where he moved on to managing the group worldwide metals and money liquidity and its inherent yield curve risks. He also spent time travelling across the world visiting central banks and mining houses to discuss and assist with their yield management and hedging requirements. Before returning to the precious metals market with Baird and Co., he spent time working at the digital news, research and data provider Fastmarkets.

Thelma Lee - Finance Director

Thelma Lee is the Finance Director of Baird & co, having joined the company in 2018.  She has a BSc in Applied Accounting and is Fellow of The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.  Thelma began her accounting career in the National Health Service, before moving into the corporate world where she has enjoyed roles as Regional financial controller for a number of companies based in the UK but with a global presence.  She has significant experience in operations management and a track record of business transformation during periods of change and restructure, especially mergers and acquisitions.  She has had substantial exposure to FOREX and treasury functions as well as legislative processes.

Outside work she runs to keep fit and relax.

Roger Billins - Non-Exectutive Director

Roger is a practising solicitor who qualified in 1979. He specialises in commercial work with an emphasis on dispute resolution and advising on contracts. He is also an author of two legal text books.

He has advised the company since 1985 and, in 2010, Tony Baird recommended his appointment as a director and he has served ever since and is also a director of Baird Investments Limited. He is committed to the protection of the company’ rights, the promotion of its interests and the development of its business.
